My Airsoft Journey in Japan

I guess it started when I was in college in 2003. I was away from home in the middle of Pennsylvania, just lots of the countryside. A group of international students organized a paintball event so I joined them wearing nothing but jeans and an old Columbia hiking jacket. Didn’t know what to expect but all I knew was that it was going to hurt getting hit by those big paintballs. I remember it being fun even though I died a lot. I also remember 2 guys in our group coming prepared in woodland Bdu’s that made them like ghosts on the field. These guys obviously knew what they were doing and destroyed us newbies. Those 2 always left an impression on me and how well camouflage actually works. Then also during college I went to a bachelor party at a shooting range in New York City. We shot small 22 caliber rifles but it was my first time with real guns. The rifles were easy to shoot but then I heard other patrons firing handguns next to us. Holy crap it was loud even with ear protection! I felt the air pressure change next to me every time they fired, maybe it was a Glock not sure. I was always fascinated by firearms from my love of John Woo action movies but hearing those handguns go off really scared me. Maybe that’s why I drifted towards airsoft, same kinds of guns without the insane danger. The photo below is me with a deactivated 50 cal rifle at that shooting range.


Back at college I played paintball a 2nd time wearing a bandana on my head like I was Rambo or something. I think I got worse playing this time and got shot in the head once or twice. Even with the full face mask on you still feel the shock of getting hit. After the game, I also noticed how sore my legs were for a couple days and had trouble walking down stairs hehe This was due to all the crouching and low positions used to play paintball. A taste of things to come! That’s the same in airsoft so I have to be sure to always stretch before playing.
I realized that paintball wasn’t for me because the guns weren’t realistic and the paint was pretty messy afterwards. I wouldn’t mind playing paintball again but you sure have to get close to score hits. But as you can see the seeds were planted in getting interested in airsoft ^^ Next time maybe talk about my first serious airsoft gun purchase

大学に戻って、ランボーか何かのように頭にバンダナをかぶってペイントボールを2回プレイしました。 今回はプレイが下手で、頭を1、2回撃たれたと思います。 フルフェイスマスクをつけていても、殴られたときの衝撃は変わらない。 試合後、数日間足が痛くて階段を降りるのに苦労したことにも気づきました.heheこれは、ペイントボールをプレイするために使用されるすべてのしゃがみと低い位置が原因​​でした. これからの味！ それはサバゲーでも同じなので、試合前には必ずストレッチをするようにしています。
ペイントボールは自分には向いていないことに気付きました。銃が現実的ではなく、塗装がかなり面倒だったからです。 もう一度ペイントボールをしてもかまいませんが、スコアに近づく必要があります。 でもご覧の通り、サバゲーに興味を持った種が植えられていました^^ 次回は、初めての本格的なサバゲーガンの購入について話そうかな。
